Make A List

As you are starting couponing it is important to make a top ten list of your expenditures.  Many a newbie couponer has turned away due to confusion and frustration.  Often the deals seem complicated at first, and if you don't see a major reduction in your grocery bill in the first couple months burn out occurs quickly.  Your list may look like this:
1.  Diapers
2.  Cleaning Supplies
3.  Personal Care Items
4.  Laundry Detergent
5.  Canned foods (veggies, fruits, soups)
6.  Produce
7.  Meat
8.  Cereal/Breakfast Food
9.  Dairy
10. Frozen Veggies

The only areas I can honestly say your savings will be minimal are produce and meat.  You will save so much on the other items that you grocery bill will mostly consist of those two groups.  It is worth it though to consider the items you use, and focus on saving money in those key spots.
