Restaurants.com is an incredible website that allows you to buy gift certificates to participating restaurants and extremely discounted rates. I have done this at least 8 times and have never had any problems. You can purchase these certificates for $2 this week (it changes but is always a great deal). I used this just this last weekend at Brick 29. Our bill ended up being only $26.91 for my husband and I (tip, two meals, beverages, dessert). The way it works:
1. Go to Restaurants.com
2. Select the restaurant you want to go to. Enter code CLEARANCE to get 80% off the price.
3. Print out the certificate (you have an entire year to redeem it!)
4. At the restaurant you must purchase at least $35 depending on the type of certificate you purchased (excluding alcohol usually).
5. Give the server you certificate when it's time to pay, it will remove $25 from you bill and add 18% gratuity.
6. You will pay out of pocket $17 for $35 worth of food.
I used this one at Emilio's last year for my birthday!!! We go the $50 off $100 certificate and ate very well. The servers love it because they are guaranteed at least 18% tip. Business's use it as advertising. You get a great deal and everybody wins. I asked the server at Emilio's if this was good for business. He said it was the only thing keeping them in business at the time.
