2. The best deals are found when you use a coupon on an item that is on sale/promo.
3. Having multiple Sunday papers allows you to get more than one item when it does go on sale.
4. A coupon binder is the easiest way to organize your coupons.
5.Whats a Catalina?
Look familiar? These are the coupons/ads you used to throw away. They can be high value coupons you can use on your next order. Read them closely, it might say"$5.00 courtesy of Kraft good for your next purchase". Walgreens, Fred Meyer and Albertsons are the stores you will find cats.
My favorite stores:
When starting couponing it is very tempting to go to each store and nab each deal. Many stores have great oppourtunity for the thrifty. Target, Toys-R-Us, Paul's, Walgreen's, Walmart, Albertson's, Winco; all of them have great deals.
I find that my top two stores are Walgreen's and Albertson's. This is based on the fact that I work near these stores and am able to whip thru on the way to or from home. Walgreen's and Albertson's are able to cater to couponers because all of their prices are not rock bottom low and all of their shoppers are not buying things on sale. So my advice, start with one store. Learn their ins and outs then get the next store under your belt. This may avoid burn out due to confusion.
What do those abbreviations mean?
The first time I went on a coupon blog I felt like I was trying to read another language. "Stack the doubler with your RP 7/14/08"... What???? Don't worry, you'll learn, until you do here are the abbreviations and what they mean:
RP= Red Plum
SS= Smart Source
PG= Proctor and Gamble
IP= Internet Printable
OOP= Out Of Pocket
OYN= On Your Next
YMMV= Your Mileage May Vary (Meaning it worked for me but may depend on the cashier or specific store policy)
Doubler= A coupon put out by Albertson's a couple times a month if we are lucky, allows you to double the value of you coupon up to $1.00
Wags=Walgreen's
Albie's= Albertson's
